Our own government spying on us or aliens from outer space? I wonder which is more likely?

Our own government spying on us or aliens from outer space? I wonder which is more likely?

Come on people. Quit with the nonsense excuses for these drones flying over the eastern seaboard. Let's knock out the various possibilities one by one...

First, these drones clearly don't belong to a foreign government - or they would have been shot out of the sky by now. With an annual defense budget approaching one trillion dollars per year, we're more than capable of doing so - just as we did with China's "weather balloons."

Second, they aren't aliens. Period. End stop. It's insane to hear otherwise intelligent people willing to accept bat shit crazy conspiracy theories involving UFOs. From Republicans, I absolutely expect crazy. From people in my own party, I except better.

That leaves our third and final possibility - the drones belong to some branch of our own government or military and are being utilized for some purpose the government is not yet willing to divulge. It wouldn't be the first time the government has tested or utilized aircraft over domestic airspace without even acknowledging the existence of said aircraft (The F-117 Nighthawk was flying over the Southwestern U.S. for years prior to the government giving the public details about its stealth aircraft program). This is the most plausible argument for what folks are seeing in the sky. Is it worth asking questions regarding the purpose of these aircraft? Absolutely - even if answers aren't likely to be forthcoming. Is it worth going down some rabbit hole of conspiracy theories, UFOs, little green men from Mars and such nonsense? No, not at all.
