BBC Factual Entertainment and Events have commissioned The Eubanks: Like Father, Like Son a powerful new reality documentary that goes far beyond the boxing ring to explore legacy, masculinity, grief, and the complexities of modern fatherhood.
This one-hour special commissioned for BBC Three and iPlayer by Nasfim Haq, is produced by Workerbee, a Baniijay UK company, and will be available to watch on iPlayer from 6am on the 11 November and broadcast on BBC Three at 9pm on 11 November, and BBC One at 10:40pm on 12 November.
It follows Chris Eubank Jnr in the wake of his headline-making fight against Conor Benn, a bout that reignited the fierce rivalry between their fathers, Chris Eubank Snr and Nigel Benn. With exclusive access to the build-up, the fight itself, and the anticipated rematch, the film captures the intensity and drama of a sporting event that has captivated the nation.
The film traces Chris Eubank Jnr's journey -- from a childhood shaped by his father's towering legacy, through a troubled adolescence, to his rise as a professional boxer and the painful breakdown of his relationship with his father. Drawing from the rich archive of Chris Eubank Snr's iconic presence in British sport and culture, the film also unveils -- for the very first time -- the poignant moment of reconciliation between father and son after years of estrangement.
