New facility takes shape near Norfolk racetrack

Work to build a new innovation park near a Norfolk racetrack has reached a major milestone.

Snetterton Innovation Park is being created on a 13-hectare site near Snetterton Circuit, close to Attleborough.

Now, work is under way on the new headquarters of advanced driving simulator firm Ansible Motion - the park's first tenant.

Snetterton Innovation Park received planning consent from Breckland Council in May this year, which included full permission for Ansible Motion's 2,950 sqm simulation centre and outline permission for an additional 27,500 sqm of development.

The application was submitted by Motorsport Vision (MSV), which owns the site close to the A11. It also owns and operates the nearby racetrack.

Ansible Motion, which is currently based at Hethel Engineering Centre near Wymondham, provides driving simulators used by the world's leading car manufacturers and motorsports teams for automotive product development and testing.

The firm's flagship two-storey HQ is scheduled to open in October 2026 and will be more than double the size of its existing home.

Alongside Ansible Motion's facility, plans include a 125-bedroom hotel, café restaurant, an Innovation Centre with office and research and development space for start-up businesses, and flexible commercial units.

Adjacent to the race circuit will be eight units intended for racing teams and motorsport-related tenants.

Jonathan Palmer, MSV chief executive, said it marked an "exciting first step in a major development and expansion of Snetterton".

"We are hugely ambitious about the Snetterton Innovation Park, and intend for this to be an exceptionally attractive proposition for innovative, forward-thinking businesses," he said.

"Ansible Motion fits the bill perfectly, and we're delighted that it will be the first headline tenant.

"Snetterton is already one of the UK's busiest race circuits, but this development will transform it into a thriving hub for race teams, motorsport businesses and advanced engineering firms.

"The circuit has a very exciting future, and the Snetterton Innovation Park will offer a powerful boost to the local economy."
