The Mavericks received 13 first-place votes and 495 points.

St. Thomas edged UNO for the top spot, receiving 17 first-place votes and 501 points.

Mav senior guard Tony Osburn was also named to the preseason first team while teammate Ja'Sean Glover was second team.
