Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10, bringing a brand new entry in the long-running series. After several misfired launches, Battlefield 6 looks to set the record straight, bringing things back to basics with class-based modern combat and all-out destruction.

Sentiment among fans remains positive with many gamers praising EA's approach in keeping this Battlefield game grounded - a far cry from the celebrity-infused Call of Duty games that Activision keeps putting out each year. Battlefield Studios even seems to be leaning into the joke, with the most recent trailer seeing the likes of Zak Efron, Jimmy Butler and Paddy Pimblett all getting blown up as a symbolistic middle finger to the rival franchise.

Battlefield 6 is launching at a price point of £69.99 when purchased digitally, although physical copies can be found at the likes of Amazon and Argos for around £59.99. However, there's a way to get the game even cheaper from one retailer with a secret discount that not many gamers know about.

Shoppers who head to GAME will find Battlefield 6 available to pre-order for £64.99. However, TopCashback is currently running a promotion that sees new members rewarded with additional cashback on their purchase of the game.

That means that instead of picking up Battlefield 6 for £64.99, they'll essentially be paying £39.16 instead. All shoppers need to do is connect their GAME account to TopCashback and wait for the money to make its way back to their account.

There's even more savings to be had for those who pick up the Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6, too. Instead of paying £94.99, the discount brings the effective price down to £64.19.

The Phantom Edition gives access to four soldier skins, a few weapon packages to get started with off the bat, plus the season 1 battle pass and 25 tier skips.

No matter which version gamers pre-order, they'll be rewarded with the Tombstone pack. This is a call back to the squad name from the Battlefield 4 single player, and will include a soldier skin, weapon package and a bunch of other cosmetic items.

If you're more of a Call of Duty fan, never fear - there's one of those releasing later this year too. Shoppers can use the same TopCashback trick to knock money off a Black Ops 7 pre-order at Argos, too.

For a less PvP focused game, Borderlands 4 is another great shooter that launched earlier this month. It can be picked up at Argos for £44.21 using TopCashback.

Of course, Battlefield 6 isn't out just yet, so we don't have any full reviews to base our thoughts on the final package. However, I did play a good chunk of the multiplayer at the launch event in August and several more hours during the open beta.

In my preview of Battlefield 6, I said: ""What strikes me most about Battlefield 6 is how refreshing it is to see DICE and the supporting studios exercise restraint. Battlefield was never an over-the-top type of game - the best in the series were always deadly focused, tactical affairs that then facilitated over-the-top gameplay moments.

"In holding themselves back from introducing 128-player servers, wild weather events and attempting to manufacturing dramatic moments themselves, it seems that going back to the drawing board and focusing on the basics for Battlefield 6 is paying off in a big way. If it manages to stick the landing with a solid, bug-free launch and a healthy dose of post-launch content to follow, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 might have a helluva uphill climb in the charts this Autumn."
