Palmieri Cafe set a tentative July opening date in Plano, said Owner Corrado Palmieri.
The eatery and coffee shop will serve Italian and American coffee, tea, sweet and savory Italian pastries, gelato and more.
"Palmieri Cafe is an authentic Italian coffee shop," Palmieri said. "We also make pastries which go well with coffee and gelato -- all authentic Italian -- without the use of any preservatives or coloring.
The background
Palmerie said he garnered his culinary skills while "making things as my grandmother taught me while playing in the kitchen with her."
Palmieri immigrated from Galatina, located in the province of Lecce in Italy, to open Palmieri Cafe. He started as a tent vendor at Dallas Farmers Market in 2014 followed by a storefront in 2016. In 2017, he opened Torrefazione Palmieri -- a coffee roasting facility operating exclusively for the Palmieri Cafe's customers -- in Dallas. In 2022, he opened a second Palmieri Cafe brick and mortar store in Bishop Arts.
Quote of note
"We only sell treats that we make with the purpose to fulfill our mission: To offer hospitality to anyone who is looking for a moment of freedom in a warm and cozy atmosphere, and to serve high quality coffee and other fresh indulgences," Palmieri said.
