Your favorite breakfast bar might be on the list of recently recalled products. According to a statement issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Riverside Natural Foods Inc., located in Chicago, Illinois, has voluntarily recalled certain batches of their MadeGood granola bars due to the potential presence of metal. "This recall is being initiated as a precautionary measure; no injuries have been reported," the report says.
The specific products impacted by the recall are fruit- and chocolate-flavored granola bars, which include the following MadeGood products:
These items were manufactured between January and November 2024 and distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. "Riverside has conducted an extensive investigation where the recalled products were manufactured and has identified the source of the issue in the manufacturing process," the report explains. "The company has remediated the issue and tested the new processes to ensure that any future risk is fully mitigated."
If you've purchased MadeGood within the last 12 months, it's best to check their Universal Product Code (UPC) to ensure that you're not at risk. Additionally, customers can return the recalled products at the store where they were purchased to receive a full refund.
