At Apple's iPhone keynote, in addition to mobile phones, at least new computer watches are expected. But what about other products?
Two hardware categories are obviously set for the next Apple keynote, which is themed "Awe dropping": four new iPhones from the 17 series (17, 17 Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max), an Apple Watch Ultra 3, an Apple Watch Series 11 and possibly a new Apple Watch SE model. But what other devices could there be to see? An overview.
Most rumor mongers believe that Apple will update the soon-to-be two-year-old AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C (which are even a year older in the Lightning version) together with the new iPhones. Better ANC, a modified, possibly smaller charging case with touch operation and possibly an integrated heart rate sensor for the first time could be coming.
Second-generation AirTags also appear to be on the cards. Among other things, the new models are expected to have a longer battery life with earlier warnings (but presumably still no battery), increased connection stability to the "Where is?" network including a second-generation UWB chip with precision search from 60 meters (instead of 15) as well as improvements in data protection and security (the device may be able to detect if the speaker has been tampered with). The AirTags are over four years old and very popular - so a new edition is worthwhile for Apple.
Apple will probably not have time for new iPads such as the first iPad Pro with M5 SoC. Such products are more suitable for another presentation in October. The same applies to the eagerly awaited new low-cost MacBook, which has been swirling around the rumor mill for some time. Apple seems to be planning other new Macs for spring 2026 this time.
Regarding other product lines, new HomePod (mini) speakers are expected, but these are also more likely to be released in October. The same applies to a new Apple TV 4K with a faster SoC and a Vision Pro 2, which is expected to have a faster chip and (slightly) better wearing comfort. The Apple keynote will take place on September 9 from 7 p.m. German time. As always, Mac & i will be reporting from the event with a live ticker, which will probably last between one and a half and two hours and will once again be a video recording.
