How many signings City should make over the summer, according to fans

The club have achieved back-to-back promotions after winning the step five Hellenic Premier Division in their 2023/24 campaign, before going on to clinch promotion by winning the step four Northern Premier League Midlands play-off finals at the first time of asking in 2024/25.

City will now step into step three competition, with many believing they will be placed in the Southern Premier League Central.

It is already confirmed that the side will be without captain Adam Mace, who retired following the play-off final win.

According to a survey of Worcester City fans, conducted by Worcester News, the majority of supporters feel the club need to make between four and five signings to reinforce their squad for the upcoming campaign, with 55 percent of supporters voting this way.

24 percent of supporters feel the club need to make between one and three signings, while 21 percent of supporters are of the opinion that six or more new players need to be brought in.

No City supporters in our survey were of the opinion that the side could go into the next campaign as is, without bringing any new names through the door.

The fans feel the area of the squad in need of the most reinforcement is the forward line, with 43 percent of fans considering it the most pertinent area for Chris Cornes to bolster.

Coming in second, 34 percent of fans feel the position in most need of reinforcement is the defensive line, with just 11 percent of fans considering the midfield most in need of new players.

Fans remain happy with the performances of first-choice goalkeeper Haydn Whitcombe and the cover provided by Dan Moore - with no fans feeling this is the area most in need of improvement.

Looking at goals for next season, 64 percent of fans in our survey think a top half finish should be the goal for the upcoming campaign.

A comfortable bottom half finish was voted second with 16 percent of fans, while nine percent of supporters consider play-off qualification to be the goal.

Five percent of fans think the side should be aiming just for survival in the division, while four percent of fans think the side should go all the way and aim to win the division.

Finally, two percent of fans consider play-off qualification, with a play-off final win and promotion to be the goal for the side's 2025/26 campaign.

Last of all, City will call a new ground home next season, making the move from Claines Lane to Sixways Stadium.

The move has been well received by supporters, with 61 percent of fans in our survey being excited about the impending switch.

34 percent of fans said they were somewhat excited about the move, while five percent of fans said they were not excited about the side making the switch.
