Cognizant joins AI Education Taskforce at the US White House

US-based IT major Cognizant announced that it participated in the AI Education Taskforce meeting at the White House held on Friday.

The initiative, aimed at expanding AI education across the United States saw participation of senior executives from leading AI companies and officials from the Trump Administration to support a national initiative.

The company, which has a major presence in Chennai, was among more than one hundred organisations that pledged to empower America's youth with the skills and knowledge.

"Cognizant is contributing philanthropic dollars, providing AI educational resources and offering the time and talents of our associates to promote AI literacy and proficiency of thousands of teachers and tens of thousands of students by 2028," the company stated in its AI Pledge to America's Youth.

"With these investments, Cognizant aims to cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary for an AI-ready workforce and the next generation of American innovators, " it added.

"As one of the foremost AI-driven companies, Cognizant has a responsibility to foster the next generation of AI talent. We are eager to collaborate with the White House, policymakers, industry leaders and our clients to promote AI education and ensure that the benefits of AI are realised across all sectors of society," said Ravi Kumar S, Chief Executive Officer of Cognizant.

Cognizant also highlighted its commitment towards AI education initiatives. "To address workforce disruptions caused by the rapid advancements of AI, Cognizant designed its global upskilling initiative, Synapse, so that everyone in the company can play an important role in making an impact," it said.

Meanwhile, Cognizant has recently attempted for a Guinness World Record title for the most participants in its Vibe Coding event. Over a ten-day period, 53,199 Cognizant associates across 40 countries took part in an online generative AI hackathon.
