GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A couple weeks ago we reported on a local Grand Junction baby who is competing in Baby of the Year, a chance for the winning baby to be on Variety magazine and receive $25,000.
Scarlett Clarkson is a 1-year-old who is also a local baby competing for the title of Baby of the Year. Scarlett's mom said Scarlett loves to dance, sing, and is spoiled by her two brothers who treat her like a princess.
Scarlett's mom also said she would put the money towards the family.
"I would like to get our car paid off so I can help get more birthday stuff for them, a good Christmas this year, or a good Christmas next year, say for their birthdays, help them with more clothes, school stuff," said Jade Clarkson, Scarlett's mom.
It's not only a competition but a way to raise money of Baby2Baby, a non-profit organization that provides essential items to children in need.
At the time of this posting, Scarlett is ranked fourth in her group for the fourth round of voting which ends October 16. The top five in each group will move on to the next round.
