BRAVE fundraisers walked on fiery coals and painful LEGO bricks to support Salisbury Hospice Charity on Saturday night (September 27).

Supporters tested their courage at the event, postponed from February and held in Guildhall Square, raising more than £5,000.

Twenty-two participants, including several first-timers, stepped barefoot across glowing embers and a path of colourful bricks as family and friends cheered from the sidelines.

The evening also featured a performance from Wessex Circus and live music from Radio Odstock.

Tam Oliver, event fundraiser at Salisbury Hospice Charity, said: "Watching participants face this challenge and support each other was incredibly moving.

"I was so inspired by the courage shown on the night, and I can't thank everyone enough for being part of it.

"Whether you walked, volunteered or came along to cheer, your support means so much.

"Every step taken will make a difference for local patients and their families. I feel truly proud to see our community come together in this way."

The £5,000 fundraising total could help fund five days of specialist palliative care through the charity's Hospice at Home service.

The hospice has thanked UK Fire Walk, Radio Odstock, Wessex Circus, photographer Donald Capewell and Tesco Extra Salisbury for their support.
