Gordon Chang, an expert in American-Chinese relations, said that President Donald Trump "fell" his recent difficult rhetoric on India, reporting a thaw of links after months of trade in trade and oil imports.
The American president has softened the tone recently. "I get along very well with Modi, as you know," he said in an apparent effort to reassure New Delhi.
According to Chang, Trump's comments were a partial climb. This occurs weeks after the American president has imposed a 50% rate on India, degenerating tensions between the two countries.
"I think President Trump made him come back. And he should, because we haven't lost India against China," said Chang Fox News.
Chang pointed out the diplomatic message of PM Modi during recent multilateral commitments. "He did not want to be part of this anti-Western group that China and Russia, North Korea and Iran form", Chang, stressing that the selective participation of Modi has reported a balancing exercise in India in diplomacy.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively participated in the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) held in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1, engaging in high -level interviews with counterparts, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
However, India chose not to join the Grand Military Parade in Beijing on September 3, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, while the Prime Minister returned home after the summit - unlike the leaders of Russia, North Korea, Pakistan and Iran - which remained for the event which has the spectacle the military prowess of China.
Chang also responded to India concerns about American prices. "Modi has one point. I mean," he says, "look, you know, we are really unhappy with the 25% price that the United States imposed on India for buying Russian oil. He said it was unjustified. No, it was not unjustified. This price was a good thing for President Trump. But Modi has a point when he said it was unfair," added Chang.
A few hours after the American president harassed their strong personal link despite tension in the links in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he "appreciates and fully reverses" Donald Trump's feelings.
Earlier, Trump expressed his frustration in the face of continuous purchases of Russian oil from India. "I have been very disappointed that India buys so much oil, as you know, from Russia. And I told them that. We put a very large price on India. 50%price, very high price," he said.
