Telangana Congress calls for unity, welcomes leaders from other parties ahead of elections | Hyderabad News - The Times of India

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan on Monday urged party workers to welcome leaders from other political parties, including those who had earlier left the Congress for various reasons. The appeal comes as the party prepares for the upcoming panchayat elections and the Jubilee Hills bypoll. The remarks were made during the TPCC executive committee meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, where leaders reaffirmed the Congress's commitment to implement 42% reservations for BCs in local bodies before proceeding with elections. Presiding over the meeting alongside deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Mahesh Goud announced that a public meeting in Kamareddy on Sept 15 will mark his one-year tenure as TPCC president. The event aims to showcase the govt's achievements and highlight steps taken to extend the BC quota. Mahesh Goud also revealed that his Janahitha Padayatra will soon resume, urging cadres to educate the public about what he called the BJP's 'vote chori', an attempt to deprive voters of their democratic rights to choose their leader and govt. "It is through vote chori that Narendra Modi secured a third term as Prime Minister. There is no doubt about this. Let's work together to make Rahul Gandhi the next PM," he asserted.
