A special fitness workout at Scissortail Park helped remember the fallen on Memorial Day. OKC's fitness community showed up for "Murph at the Park" at 7 a.m. Monday. "It's a mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and another mile run," Brice Collier, cofounder of Koda CrossFit, said. This was the event's second year. Michael Murphy wanting to honor their friend who died in Afghanistan in 2005. "It was a workout that he enjoyed doing," Collier said. "The idea of this workout is that you use it to kind of commemorate those who've given their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice in the armed services, military, fire, so we can live in a country where we can do these kinds of workouts. So, it just helps us remember why we have Memorial Day, what it means to us and let us get in a little fitness in this morning." >> Video Below: Dozens gather to remember fallen troops at Langston memorial ceremony despite rainNearly 500 people signed up to participate this year. The entire workout takes between 35 minutes to a little more than an hour. Everyone has a different skill level, and the group behind it hopes to be back next year. "I really hope they just, one, reflect on all the members of the armed service who paid the ultimate sacrifice. I hope they meet a few people they haven't met before. Got to work out outside, you know, really enjoy this atmosphere. They're in a great location at Scissortail Park to be able to do this," Collier said.
