(TNND) -- President-elect Donald Trump announced another pick Wednesday night, choosing Kari Lake as the director of Voice of America.

Voice of America is a U.S. government-funded international media outlet that broadcasts in more than 40 languages on both radio and television. Lake previously worked as a news anchor and did not win her Arizona Senate seat in November.

On Truth Social, Trump said that Lake will "ensure that the American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media."

Lake ran unsuccessfully for public office in both 2022 and 2024.
